Outside Interactive, Inc. Acquires ROAM Media and Inkwell Media Expanding Library of Online Courses for Outside+ Members and Broadening Social Media Reach

These acquisitions will enhance Outside’s catalog of content and influencer network, fueling member inspiration and knowledge for the next adventure

Boulder, Colorado (November 4, 2021) — Outside Interactive, Inc. the world’s leading creator of active lifestyle content, services, events, and experiences, announced today the acquisition of two Boulder-based companies, ROAM Media, the premier source for outdoor education and adventure with purpose; and Inkwell Media, a creator marketing agency. The deals represent Outside’s investment in their member experience by expanding its portfolio of educational resources and influencer engagement. This marks Outside’s 12th and13th acquisitions respectively since 2020.

Founded in 2017, with a mission of Adventure with Purpose, ROAM provides its members with a catalog of online classes taught by world-class climbers, skiers, snowboarders, surfers, filmmakers, photographers, and mind and body experts. Membership also includes podcasts, exclusive access to community events with the instructors and mini-documentaries from ROAM Studios. These benefits will be rolled into Outside+, Outside’s premiere subscription, in the coming months. Existing ROAM members will soon gain access to the perks and benefits of Outside+. 

Inkwell Media, a leader in creator marketing founded in 2014, will bolster Outside’s internal social media and creator strategy by amplifying the Inkwell Network of artists and athletes. Inkwell’s commitment to authentic community, coupled with best-in-class social media expertise, will help Outside’s brand awareness and increase Outside+ memberships. Outside will also benefit from Inkwell’s strong market reputation, which they have developed by building successful social media campaigns for bluechip active lifestyle and general interest brands.
