Intersectional Environmentalist

Radically imagining a more equitable and diverse future of environmentalism

Intersectional Environmentalist (IE) works to empower a new generation of environmental activists rooted in equity and inclusion. IE provides educational resources for organizations looking to shift their narrative and acts as a community connector, linking people to initiatives and organizations they can support locally.

Donations through Find Your Good will support the group’s educational resource development work, including Earth Sessions. “Earth Sessions connect passionate environmentalists with local grassroots organizations,” says Co-founder and Partnerships Lead Sabs Katz. “They also engage attendees in educational programming that highlights the intersections within the environmental justice movement. And they raise funds to support IE and local environmental justice partners.”

Intersectional Environmentalist’s Work

To date, more than 1 million people around the world have read the IE Pledge and IE has played a key role in amplifying the work of grassroots environmental justice organizations. In 2022, the IE team is slated to host a total of 40 events, both in person and virtual.

In 2021, IE participated in an Instagram Live with the White House and published an open letter to the Biden Administration. IE also offers training, consulting, resources and activations for groups looking to deepen their awareness and understanding of environmental justice.
